President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Declares Wednesday, July 30, 2025, as a National Day of Prayer

Executive Mansion, Monrovia-:President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has declared Wednesday, July 30, 2025, as a National Day of Prayer to be observed throughout the Republic as a National Holiday.

This declaration is in recognition of the enduring grace of God upon the nation and the unyielding spirit of the Liberian people through times of trial and triumph.

In his Independence Day message, President Boakai emphasized the importance of national unity, reconciliation, and healing. He noted that from the founding of Liberia to this pivotal moment in the country’s democratic journey, the hand of God has remained ever present. As such, he called on all Liberians, residents, and international partners within the borders of Liberia to come together in solemn prayer and reflection.

“From the founding of our nation, through seasons of trial and triumph, God has remained our guide and the source of our hope,” the President stated, urging, “As we look to the future, let us embrace forgiveness of ourselves and one another, for it is only through reconciliation that we can fully heal and move forward as one people.”

President Boakai called on citizens to gather in churches, mosques, and other places of worship across the country to seek God’s face, ask for His continued blessing upon the land, and to renew the national covenant for peace, unity, and a reconciled Liberia.

The National Day of Prayer is expected to feature interfaith gatherings, special prayer services, and community-based reflections throughout Liberia.

President Boakai encourages all public and private institutions to observe the day in a manner that promotes spiritual renewal, harmony, and collective purpose.
