Spartacus continued their impressive debut season in the 2025 National Basketball League with a commanding 81-64 victory over defending champions Mighty Barrolle on Friday.
The win deepens Barrolleโs early-season woes, marking their second consecutive defeat following an opening-day loss to the in-form LPRC Oilers.
In Division 2 action on the same day, the Knight Reapers secured a hard-fought 55-47 victory over the King George Knights.
On Saturday, the Monrovia Admirals fell 65-83 to Bushord Dreams, who are enjoying a remarkable start to life in Division 2. The win marks an impressive debut season for the Dreams.
Meanwhile, the undefeated LPRC Oilers extended their perfect start to the season, making it five wins in a row. Their latest triumph came in a hard-fought battle against the newly promoted Highway Kings.
Despite trailing early, the Oilers bounced back strongly, with Fedolph Marshall putting in a standout performance. The former Bushord Bulls star led the comeback, guiding his team to a 60-46 win with a dominant display.
With their consistent form, the Oilers are quickly emerging as the top contenders this season, positioning themselves as the team to beat and threatening to overtake the struggling Barrolle as Liberiaโs basketball powerhouse.
In the womenโs division, the Highlanders earned a solid 39-25 win over Future Basketball, also at the SKD Gym.
Meanwhile, league activities were paused for three daysโfrom Tuesday, May 27 to Thursday, May 29โto make room for the 2025 Jordan Nwora Foundation Elite Basketball Camp. The camp brought together over one hundred young Liberian basketball players, offering them a unique opportunity to gain skills and mentorship in line with the Foundationโs mission of giving back to the community.
