As Liberians struggle for better education for a brighter future, the Chief Executive Officer of the Kear Humanitarian Foundation, Mr. Christopher Kear, has taken a significant step towards empowering Liberians by covering the entrance registration fees for 100 Liberian students who have expressed interest in enrolling at the University of Liberia.
The gesture valued at three hundred thousand Liberian Dollars (300,000.00) demonstrates the foundation’s commitment to investing in the future of the citizens of Liberia and giving the scholarly opportunity to have access to quality education and prepare them for employment opportunities to help increase the output of capacity building for National development.
Amidst the escalating concerns regarding corruption among local leaders, the Kear Humanitarian Foundation has emerged as a vital force in supporting the destitute and impoverished citizenry of our country.
The non-profit organization is dedicated to providing opportunities for interested school-going boys and girls to improve their economic livelihood and countering the adverse effects of corruption that often leave the most vulnerable without necessary assistance.
The intention of the Foundation is not only to provide financial support to those in need, but to inspire hope and resilience in the face of adversity as they continue to champion the rights and needs of the impoverished, as the foundation serves as a reminder of the positive impact that dedicated individuals and organizations can have even in times of widespread corruption.
The Foundation has been steadfast in its mission to uplift communities and Liberians through impactful initiatives focused on four core pillars, namely: Health, Education, Agriculture, and Sanitation/WASH. With dedicated efforts over the years, the foundation has implemented various community-based projects that have had significant positive impacts.
Housing Support for Families in Need:
One of the notable achievements of the foundation is the construction and donation of a fully furnished two-bedroom house to a family in the St. Paul Bridge community. The project estimated over US$6,000.00 has provided safe and secure housing for a struggling family demonstrating the foundation’s commitment to addressing the pressing needs of vulnerable families in the area.
Investing in Education:
The Kear Humanitarian Foundation is also deeply committed to educational support. Currently, they are sponsoring more than 25 students at Bishop Richard West International School in the Sheffin Community.
The support system includes, covering school fees, providing shoes, backpacks, uniforms, PE suits, stationery, and more—totaling over L$1,000,000.00. By investing in the education of these students, the foundation aims to foster a brighter future for the next generation.
Enhancing Water Access:
Access to clean and safe water is a crucial aspect of public health, and the Kear Humanitarian Foundation has taken significant steps in this area as well. They constructed and donated a community hand pump in Battery Factory, an initiative that cost over US$1,200.00. This project has enhanced water access for the local community, promoting better health and hygiene practices among residents.
Health Interventions:
In addition to education and housing, the foundation also focuses on health interventions, showcasing its commitment to the well-being of individuals in the community.
The foundation has been proactive in assisting individuals by covering hospital bills and emergency medical expenses, ensuring that those in urgent need receive the care they require.
Through these diverse initiatives, the Kear Humanitarian Foundation continues to make significant strides in improving the lives of people and the unwavering dedication to health, education, housing, and sanitation.
