The House of Representatives has strongly rejected unfounded and baseless media reports alleging that a so-called “bloc” within the Legislature is seeking to remove Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah and replace him with Hon. Sekou Kanneh.
The House described the claim as pure fabrication and political gossip, making it clear that there is absolutely no plan, discussion, or resolution—formal or informal—pertaining to the removal of the Deputy Speaker.
In fact, at present, Speaker Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon and Chairman on Executive Hon. Sekou Kanneh are out of the country on legislative duties, while Deputy Speaker Fallah is serving as Acting Speaker.
Deputy Speaker Fallah is not just an ordinary legislator. Having served continuously in the Liberian Legislature since 2005, he is widely respected by colleagues and fondly referred to as the “Doyen of the Legislature.” He continues to enjoy the full confidence and support of Speaker Koon and members of the Honorable House of Representatives.
“We call on the media to uphold professional and ethical journalism, rather than engaging in the circulation of propaganda,” the statement read.
The House reaffirmed its commitment to serving the Liberian people with integrity, focus, and unity.
